Privacy Policy

Effective 22 July 2026 Last updated 22 July 2026 com.setwise.setwise

Setwise collects no data. There is no account, no server and no analytics — everything you enter stays in encrypted storage on your own device.

01 Organization Information

Setwise ("the app") is published by [DEVELOPER_NAME] through an organization Google Play developer account.

Contact for privacy enquiries: [DEVELOPER_EMAIL].

This policy explains how Setwise handles information. In short: it does not collect any.

02 Data Collection

Setwise collects no personal data of any kind. We do not gather, transmit, sell, rent or otherwise process your information, because none of it ever leaves your device.

  • No names, email addresses, phone numbers or identifiers are requested or stored remotely.
  • No device identifiers, advertising IDs or fingerprinting.
  • No location data, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
  • No usage analytics, crash reporting or telemetry of any kind.
  • No cookies or tracking technologies.

The content you create — songs, setlists, gig and rehearsal entries, tags, notes, goals and settings — is written only to local storage on your own device.

03 Data Usage

All processing happens on-device. Running-time calculations, readiness and rusty-song detection, the venue repeat check, search and filtering, insights charts, streaks, goals and achievements are computed locally from data you entered.

No content is uploaded, backed up to a server, or used to train anything.

04 Data Sharing

We share nothing, because we have nothing to share. Setwise has no backend and makes no requests that carry your content.

If you choose to use the export or share features, the resulting file is created on your device and handed to whichever app you personally select in the Android share sheet. That transfer is initiated by you and governed by the receiving app's own policies.

05 Data Security

Your content is stored in a local Hive database that is encrypted with AES-256. The encryption key is generated on your device at first launch and held in flutter_secure_storage, which is backed by the Android Keystore.

App settings, goals and preferences are also kept in secure storage. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no network transfer to intercept and no server database to breach.

Device-level protection (screen lock, full-disk encryption, keeping the OS updated) remains your responsibility.

06 Data Retention

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. There are two ways to do that:

  • Settings → Clear all data — permanently deletes every song, setlist and logged date, including any sample content.
  • Uninstall the app — removes the app together with its local storage.

We hold no copies, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no retention period on our side.

07 No User Accounts

Setwise has no registration, sign-in, password or profile. You cannot create an account because there is no service to create one on. The app is fully functional from first launch with no identity attached to it.

08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Setwise does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — or from anyone else, at any age, since it collects no personal information at all.

The app is not directed at children and is not part of Google Play's Designed for Families programme. It contains no ads, no in-app purchases and no social or user-generated-content features.

09 Your Rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you exercise every data right directly, without contacting anyone:

  • Access & portability — export a full JSON backup, a repertoire CSV or a gig-log CSV at any time from Settings.
  • Rectification — edit or delete any record in the app.
  • Erasure — Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall.
  • Objection & restriction — not applicable: no processing takes place off your device.

10 No Third-Party Services

Setwise integrates no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, analytics providers, crash reporters, social logins or payment processors.

The only external resource the app ever loads is this privacy policy page, which is fetched over the internet when you open Settings → Privacy policy. That request carries no personal data. Distribution through the Google Play Store is subject to Google's own privacy policy.

11 Permissions

Setwise requests exactly one Android permission:

PermissionWhy
INTERNET Solely to display this privacy policy page inside the app. No app content is uploaded and no other network requests are made.

Not requested: location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos/media, storage, notifications, or any background permission.

12 Google Play Data Safety Form

Our Data Safety declaration in the Google Play Console states:

  • Data collected: none.
  • Data shared with third parties: none.
  • Data encrypted in transit: not applicable — no data is transmitted.
  • Data deletion: users can delete all data in-app at any time.
  • Committed to the Play Families policy: not applicable.

This declaration is accurate for every feature in the app, including insights, streaks, achievements and export, all of which are computed entirely on-device.

13 Policy Dates & Changes

Effective date: 22 July 2026
Last updated: 22 July 2026

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

15 Legal Compliance

Setwise is published by an organization developer account and is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's User Data, Data Safety and Permissions policies.

Under GDPR terminology, no personal data is processed by us, so there is no controller relationship in respect of your app content — you remain in sole control of it on your own device. Under the CCPA, we do not sell or share personal information, and we operate no financial-incentive programme.
